Owner/Clinician
Loss and Traumatic Events have been a part of my life (in one way or another) for most of my life. First personally and now professionally. While they have played a significant role in my life in many ways, they in no way define me or are a part of who I am as a person. Because of my experiences, as difficult as they were and sometimes are, I have really been able to understand how much it impacts both myself and others. Because the truth is, it does impact us all in one way or another.
Sadly, until recently no one really knew or understood how to cope with such complicated issues. Luckily, I was drawn to a profession which helped me to realize the importance of healing from my own losses and traumatic events so that I would be able to help others with the ones they struggle with as well. In addition to learning the importance of learning to heal from these things, luckily I have also learned the lesson of the value of love and allowing another person to feel safe to be freely who they are without the fear of judgement. I learned this through personal experience at a very young age which made a huge difference in my ability to cope with the painful losses and traumatic events I experienced. I was very fortunate to know both great loss and great love simultaneously which I believe helped me to better be able to cope with the painful experiences I have had. It also taught me that healing from loss and trauma goes beyond healing the pain, but also teaching a person how to live, have faith, and open both their mind and heart to love again.
Currently I am the owner of RISE & Shine Integrated Therapeutic Services in Fort Lauderdale Florida which provides Holistic Outpatient Therapeutic Services for Individuals, Families, Couples, and Groups. While we offer a variety of services, we are nationally known and specialized services in helping client’s cope and heal from loss, pain, traumatic events, and complex trauma. Helping our clients learn to understand their unique impact of these experiences, learn the cope with their symptoms, and then work towards healing, restoration, resolution, and really living and enjoying life is our goal for each client we work with.
In my professional experience I have been working with helping individuals, families, couples, and groups heal from unresolved grief and trauma for more than ten years now. I have experience working with this population specifically on an inpatient, intensive outpatient, private practice, and now my own business which provides outpatient therapeutic services, which has helped widen my experience working with this population and understand the needs and benefits of addressing these issues in the community. My professional credentials include the following: I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Clinical Supervisor. I am a Board Certified PTSD Clinician, Board Certified Hypnotherapist, Board Certified Telehealth Clinician, Certified Grief Recovery Specialist, Board Certified Nationally Certified Counselor, Certified Incorporation Therapist, and a Certified Ho’oponopono Practitioner. All of these certifications have helped increase my knowledge and understanding of the ways to cope with and heal issues and symptoms relating to these issues.
